Frequently Asked questions

  • What should I expect from my first bridal styling appointment?

Brides-to-be together with their most trusted friends and family will receive a completely private 90-minute bridal styling appointment by booking online here through our website.

At this appointment we will chat through the wedding plans you have already made and your vision for the day. I will listen to your requirements and guide you through the best wedding dress styles from the exclusive Spellbound Bridal collection to meet your needs.

As the owner and principal bridal stylist for Spellbound Bridal, it is of paramount importance to me that you enjoy a relaxed, personalised experience at my studio in Arklow, Co. Wicklow.

Champagne glasses are available for the bride and her guests to add some celebratory fizz to this very special occasion. However, as we are not a licensed premises we cannot sell alcohol.

The nominal appointment booking fee is fully redeemable against your wedding dress order with Spellbound Bridal.

  • What should I bring to my first bridal styling appointment?

Bridal accessories such as shoes, veils, and some discreet breast support will be on hand to complete your private bridal styling appointment.

It is recommended that your wear nude seamless panties or shapewear for your bridal styling appointment. Shapewear in particular will allow for our form-fitting bridal gown styles to glide over your hips effortlessly.

Strapless bras are not necessary for your first bridal styling appointment.

Brides are requested to arrive for their appointments completely free of false tan. This includes tan enhancing moisturisers and bronzing powders.

Unfortunately appointments cannot be honoured if a bride-to-be arrives wearing any form of false tan. This requirement is there to protect our dresses and to ensure that every bride can enjoy trying on a perfectly clean gown.

A face cover will be provided to brides in order to protect the gowns from make-up when fitting on a dress over the head. However, most dresses will be tried on by simply stepping into the gown with a little assistance from your bridal stylist.

  • How many appointments will i need?

Brides who fall in love with one of our gowns at their first personal styling consultation, can place an order for their made-to-measure wedding dress on the same day.

Where a bride is undecided between two or three dresses, she may request a ‘Second Look’ appointment where she will make her final choice and say ‘Yes to the Dress’.

There is no charge for second look, dress fitting, or alterations appointments.

If you choose to use our recommended seamstress for your dress alterations, you can expect to pay from e100 - e150 for basic hem and corset adjustments to achieve the final perfect fit. All alterations appointments with our recommended seamstress are accompanied by our bridal stylist to ensure that the final results are perfect in every way.

  • What if I gain or lose weight?

A bride’s final measurements for their made-to-measure bridal gown are usually taken on the day that they say ‘Yes to the Dress’.

However, if the bride’s wedding date is more than 12-months away, we may jointly decide to take her final measurements 10-months before her wedding date. This is to ensure that adequate time is allowed for the bride’s silhouette to be perfectly captured for their custom-fit dress.

Lots of my brides share their intention to lose weight or tone up prior to their wedding day. In my experience, I do not recommend that we adjust your final body measurements to the size you hope to be. Our expert seamstress will professionally alter your custom fit gown so that it perfectly fits your new silhouette up to 4-weeks in advance of your wedding day.

Similarly, if a bride gains weight in the intervening time before her first dress fitting appointment, there are many options available to us to adjust your bridal gown so that you both look and feel beautiful.

  • What payment methods are accepted?

At Spellbound Bridal, we accept bank transfers, cards and cash.

For all full price wedding gowns, we ask that you pay 50% once you’ve said ‘Yes to the Dress’ and then the remaining 50% once it has been delivered to the boutique.

Sale dresses must be paid for in full and unfortunately, we cannot put gowns on hold.

  • Is it possible to get a refund or cancel a dress order?

Once you have selected your wedding dress, it is made to your exact measurements. No refund or cancellation is possible on your custom-fit wedding dress.

Should your personal circumstances change for any reason, it is important to get in touch with Spellbound Bridal as soon as possible by email or phone.

It is our wish to make every bride’s dreams come true. So, if you find that you are due to welcome a baby into the world, your wedding day has to be postponed, is changing destination, or has to be cancelled for any reason; it is our gift to you to try our best to provide a solution to meet the needs of your unique situation.

  • What dress sizes are available in your bridal studio?

At Spellbound Bridal, I have carefully selected a wide range of sample dress sizes to suit a variety of a bridal silhouettes.

    Dresses and jumpsuits range in size from a UK10 / EU38 to UK16 / EU44.

All of the designers showcased in the Spellbound Bridal studio will create a made-to-measure gown up to UK20 / EU48.

If a bridal gown is too big for you, we will use bridal clips to fix the dress tighter to your body in order to give you a better idea of the ideal fit. If the gown is too small, we will use some magic ties to fix the zip and closings to give you the best possible impression of the gown from the front appearance.
